Plan at a glance
Location and visit length
Yichun Museum is at 536 Luzhou North Road, on the south plaza of the Cultural Window. Allow one to three hours. A history-only visit can be shorter; reading labels, visiting a temporary exhibition or waiting for a guided tour takes longer.
Free admission and opening
Admission is free. Opening days and last-entry times may change during holidays, so check the museum's latest notice before leaving and bring valid identification.

Choose your visit
Yichun General History Exhibition
Start with the Yichun General History Exhibition, which runs from prehistoric civilisation through the Shang and Zhou periods, the Tang and Song dynasties, and the Ming and Qing periods. First-time visitors can follow the historical timeline, then slow down at the archaeological material, period displays or reconstructed scenes that interest them.
Western Jiangxi folk culture and local life
The Western Jiangxi Folk Customs exhibition complements the general history display and explains local life and culture. Objects and interactive elements change with the exhibition arrangement; use the labels and gallery guide after entering rather than searching for a fixed display.
Red Memory and temporary exhibitions
The Red Memory theme suits visitors interested in modern and contemporary history. Temporary exhibitions change in theme and dates, so read the notice at the entrance before changing your order. If you have only one hour, choose one permanent theme and one current exhibition rather than rushing through every room.
For the county museum's Yuan blue-and-white porcelain collection, see Gao'an Yuan Blue-and-White Porcelain Museum.
For a dedicated Zen architecture and stairway visit, see Yichun Zen Culture Expo Park.
Build your day
Full themed route | about 1–2 hours
Pick up the day's floor guide at the entrance. Visit the Yichun General History Exhibition, Western Jiangxi Folk Customs and Red Memory in sequence, then add the current temporary exhibition. If a gallery is being installed or is temporarily closed, follow the open-area guide and spend the extra time on permanent labels and reconstructed scenes.
Short route | about 1 hour
Choose the parts of the General History Exhibition that interest you, then add whichever folk-culture or red-memory gallery is open that day. If you want to see a particular object, ask the service desk whether it is on display; the collection is larger than the set of objects displayed year-round.
Combine it with the city centre
Yichun Museum can share a day with the library, art museum or other Yuanzhou urban stops. Entrances and hours differ, so plan the transfers on a map and keep time for the return. With older adults or children, prioritise the history and folk-culture themes and leave rest time between galleries; if the temporary exhibition has a queue, finish the permanent displays first.
Get there
Urban bus and walking location
The address is 536 Luzhou North Road, on the south plaza of the Cultural Window. Use the day's city-bus navigation to reach the area, check the stop location and follow the museum signs into the building.
Driving and arrival checks
Parking beside the museum follows the on-site signs. Group entry follows a different process from individual visits. Search for “Yichun Museum” and check the Luzhou North Road address before setting out.
Know before you go
Floors and gallery order
Gallery floors and open areas can change. Use the day's floor guide after entering and arrange the order from there.
Keep the two museums' collections separate
The original blue-and-white and underglaze-red pieces from the Gao'an Yuan-dynasty hoard are held by Gao'an Museum. Do not confuse the two museums. Yichun Museum has different themes; the display labels identify the current objects and whether an item is an original or a reproduction. If visiting both in one day, check the two addresses and opening periods separately so that Gao'an does not get entered as a Yichun city-centre stop.
Guided tours, ID and photography
Group visits and guided tours follow the museum's latest arrangements. Individual visitors should bring valid ID, and photography follows the signs inside the museum.
