Plan at a glance

Mineral springs, volcanoes, and geological exhibits

This area brings together Beiyin Spring (北饮泉 / 北药泉), Yaoquan Mountain (药泉山), Erlongyan Spring, and the Wudalianchi Global Geopark Museum. Their opening hours and walking conditions differ, so check the operating times and arrange vehicle transfers between stops before setting out.

Tickets and different opening hours

Beiyin Spring admission is RMB 20 and can be bought on site without a reservation; Yaoquan Mountain and the museum are free. Beiyin Spring usually opens 08:00–17:00. The museum’s summer schedule is roughly 08:30–12:00 and 14:00–17:00, with shorter winter hours; Yaoquan Mountain is generally open all day. Follow each attraction’s current notice.

Tickets and visit details

View visit options for this attraction and confirm the visit date and current arrangements before you go.

Choose your visit

Beiyin Spring: Yishen Pavilion and Medicine Spring Lake

At Yishen Pavilion, you can collect naturally carbonated cold mineral water, then stop by Medicine Spring Lake. The water is fizzy and has a noticeable mineral taste, so try a small amount first.

Yaoquan Mountain: temple, Guanyin statue, and mountain views

The main stops on Yaoquan Mountain are Zhongling Temple, the Guanyin statue, and the viewpoint at the summit; Erlongyan Spring is at the foot of the mountain. You may drive up if vehicles are permitted that day, or walk. Some walking sections have uneven volcanic pumice, so choose according to your ability.

Global Geopark Museum

The museum has World Volcano, Wudalianchi Volcano, Mineral Springs, Ecology, and Humanities galleries. Highlights include models of 14 volcanoes, a 3D eruption model, and Qing-dynasty Manchu documents and maps. The condition of interactive equipment follows that day's operating conditions.

Brief note on closed attractions

Nanyao Spring, Huoshao Mountain, the Volcanic Lava Ice Cave, and Bailong Cave are currently closed. Check the latest opening notice rather than planning a stop there. Bailong Cave and Bailong Lake are different destinations, so use the exact name when navigating.

Build your day

Beiyin Spring quick route: out and back to Yishen Pavilion

Enter Beiyin Spring, follow the main path to Yishen Pavilion to collect water, stop at Medicine Spring Lake, and return to the entrance by the same route; the quick visit takes about 1 hour. Bring your own bottle and read the day’s drinking-water notice before collecting. If you want to continue across the lava platform, allow about 1.5–2 hours instead.

Yaoquan Mountain and Erlongyan Spring

Follow the day’s access instructions from the Yaoquan Mountain entrance. If vehicles are allowed to the summit, visit Zhongling Temple, the Guanyin statue, and the viewpoint, then descend and stop at Erlongyan Spring. A quick visit takes about 30 minutes; a slower look takes about 1 hour. Summit access and road conditions follow the on-site arrangement.

Half-day combination with the museum and springs

Allow about 1–2 hours for the museum, then take a vehicle to Beiyin Spring or Yaoquan Mountain. Use navigation to check the distance between each stop; do not assume the whole area can be walked. If you arrive during the museum’s midday closure, visit the spring area first and return after 14:00. Wenpo’s west gate is about 600 meters from Beiyin Spring; if you extend the day from Wenpo, see the Wenpo Lake Scenic Area guide and confirm whether walking or a vehicle transfer is practical.

Get there

Separate navigation targets and vehicle transfers

For Beiyin Spring, navigate to “Wudalianchi Global Geopark Beiyin Spring” or “Wudalianchi Scenic Area Beiyin Spring”. Search separately for Yaoquan Mountain and the museum, or use 8 Yaoquan West Road for the museum. Wudalianchi’s attractions are spread out, so drive or use a pre-arranged licensed vehicle rather than treating every stop as a connected walk.

Parking and checking the arrival point

Parking is available at the Beiyin Spring and Yaoquan Mountain entrances, and the museum is reached from Yaoquan West Road. Check the day’s signs for the exact entrance and available spaces. If visiting several stops, agree on the pickup order and return point in advance, and leave room for the museum’s midday closure.

Know before you go

Concession documents and free entry

Beiyin Spring offers free entry for visitors aged 65 and over, but the public information does not say whether foreign passports qualify. Ask the ticket office whether a passport can be used for the concession and whether any additional document is required.

Mineral-water taste and drinking

Beiyin Spring water is fizzy and mineral-rich in taste; try a small amount first. No health benefit is promised. Follow the on-site instructions for whether the drinking point is open and how water may be collected.

The museum’s midday closure

The museum closes at midday and has shorter winter hours. Confirm the last admission time on the day so you do not arrive during the break. Some interactive equipment may not be operating.

Lava paths and mountain safety

Walking sections on Yaoquan Mountain may contain loose volcanic pumice. Wear shoes with good grip, follow the signs, and slow down on uneven steps and slopes. Stay on the open route.

Food and pricing

Wudalianchi town has mineral-water tofu and mineral-spring fish; Dongjia Restaurant near Yaoquan Mountain is one possible option. Check that it is open that day. Before ordering fish, ask about the price per jin, weighing, and cooking charge.
