Plan at a glance

Separate lake and volcanic areas

Wudalianchi Scenic Area is in Wudalianchi City. Its lakes, water attractions, and volcanic landforms are spread across different areas, so you need a vehicle between most stops. List the places you want to visit that are open that day, then arrange the order and transport.

Separate tickets and changing operating status

The attractions generally sell separate tickets, usually RMB 20–50 per stop. Bailong Lake may be free during some periods; the applicable area and hours follow the on-site notice. Laoheshan is currently closed with no confirmed reopening date, so do not put it in the route. Confirm the operating status of the other stops one by one before departure.

Tickets and visit details

View visit options for this attraction and confirm the visit date and current arrangements before you go.

Choose your visit

Wenpo: clear water among lava platforms

Wenpo’s water contrasts with the surrounding black volcanic-lava platforms, and its boardwalks are the main viewing and photography areas. Make it a separate stop if you want a water-focused visit; the open sections and boardwalk conditions follow the day’s notice.

Longmen Stone Village: the Flowering Lava Sea

Longmen Stone Village is known for its Flowering Lava Sea and volcanic stone ponds, with viewpoints over the lava field. There are many volcanic-rock surfaces, so shoes with good grip help; confirm the route and open areas before entering.

Mineral springs and the lakes

At Beiyin Spring, you can collect naturally carbonated mineral water; bring a bottle if you want to try it. Bailong Lake is mainly a lakeside landscape, and some periods may allow free entry. Follow the day’s rules for collecting water and entering the lake area.

Adjust the selection to what is open

The main currently usable choices are Wenpo, Beiyin Spring, Longmen Stone Village, and Bailong Lake, but the open list can change. Confirm each stop before leaving. If one closes temporarily, switch to another water or volcanic-landform area that you have confirmed is open.

Build your day

Short route: Beiyin Spring and Wenpo

Allow about 3–4 hours. Start at Beiyin Spring for the mineral-water experience, then continue to Wenpo for the water views. Use a vehicle between the two and return to your accommodation or pre-arranged pickup point in the same car. If you hire a car for the route, confirm whether waiting time and transfers between the two attractions are included in the quoted price.

One-day combination: stone stronghold, spring area, and Wenpo

For a full day, visit Longmen Stone Village in the morning, then Beiyin Spring and Wenpo in the afternoon. This divides the volcanic lava, mineral-spring, and lake experiences into three stops. Distances are long, so confirm each transfer, stop length, and return time with the driver. If Wenpo is the final stop, check its closing and exit arrangements again.

Return planning and time margin

Multi-stop days need time for parking, transfers, and separate ticket purchases. Confirm the final stop’s opening and exit arrangements before booking the return vehicle. Any possible evening free-entry period at Bailong Lake must be checked against the on-site notice.

Get there

Driving between the stops

The attractions are spread out, and a car gives you more control over the order and time at each stop. Navigate separately to each attraction name or ticket-office entrance and follow its parking signs. Public transport is limited; do not plan cross-area walking from a straight-line map distance alone.

Hiring a vehicle and confirming the service

If you are not driving, ask a licensed taxi or vehicle-hire service. Vehicle hire costs about RMB 150–200 per day; confirm the charging method, service hours, waiting rules, and return arrangement before leaving. Avoid unlicensed private guides or vehicles with unclear prices and itineraries.

Know before you go

Single-stop prices and possible free periods

Separate attraction tickets are usually RMB 20–50, not a unified scenic-area ticket or pass. Bailong Lake may be free during some periods, but check the day’s area, hours, and entry requirements.

Rock paths, shoes, and summer insects

Many paths cross volcanic rock, so wear comfortable shoes with good grip and bring insect repellent in summer. Ground conditions, steps, and accessible facilities differ by attraction. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask the relevant attraction about the route before going.

Mineral-spring fish and local food

Wang Maolv Tofu Shop serves a dish called “hamburger tofu”; the town also has mineral-water tofu and mineral-spring fish. Before ordering fish, confirm the price per jin, weighing method, and cooking charge. Farm restaurants and other eateries follow their daily opening status.

Separate guides for a longer itinerary

For a deeper visit, see the separate guides for Longmen Stone Village, Wenpo Lake Scenic Area, and the Wudalianchi Mineral Springs & Geological Museum Area. Confirm each attraction’s opening status first, then arrange the vehicle transfers; closed attractions stay out of the route.
