Choose your visit

The museum and fish-skin culture

The 赫哲族博物馆 (Hezhen Museum) displays fishing and hunting tools, household objects, and fish-skin clothing. Hands-on activities such as fish-skin carving and birch-bark boat making may cost extra or require a reservation. Ask whether a craftsperson will be available to guide the activity.

Log-built houses, murals, and the Yimakan Center

The village display area has log-built houses with painted exterior walls and a Yimakan Center. Photograph the murals from public roads and open areas. Residents' homes and cultural displays are different spaces; follow the access rules when entering the center or a workshop, and do not treat residents or craftspeople as photo props.

River views and glass attractions

街津山森林公园 (Jiejin Mountain Forest Park), its glass walkway, and glass slide offer elevated views over the river. Marker 247 (247号界碑) is a border marker on the riverbank. Maintenance, weather, and on-site controls affect access; the glass attractions are not guaranteed to operate every day. In rain, snow, or strong winds, check whether they are safe to use. If they are closed, visit the museum and public village roads instead.

For the river confluence and public scenic area, see Tongjiang Sanjiangkou Scenic Area.

For a shorter Tongjiang heritage walk, see Tongjiang Heritage Walk.

Build your day

A 1.5-to-two-hour short route

Enter the resort and visit the Hezhen Museum first, then see the river from public areas. Go near Marker 247 only if access is allowed that day. Walk along village roads to see the murals on the log-built houses, then return to the entrance. Do not enter residential yards or closed areas.

A three-to-four-hour full visit

Start with the museum and village displays. Depending on what is open, add the Yimakan Center, an intangible cultural heritage activity, or a glass attraction. Performances sometimes start at about 10:00, but may be scheduled only in peak season, on weekends, or on selected dates. Confirm the day's programme rather than planning around a past schedule.

Food and return trip

Before leaving, eat at Jiejinkou Restaurant or another restaurant open to the public near the resort. Confirm prices and portion sizes when ordering. The drive back to downtown Tongjiang takes about 40 minutes. Buses run infrequently, so arrange a driver or confirm the bus schedule in advance.

Get there

Driving or hiring a car

The drive from downtown Tongjiang takes about 40 minutes along G221 (G221国道) to 街津口赫哲族乡 (Jiejinkou Hezhen Township). Navigate to “街津口赫哲族旅游度假区 (Jiejinkou Hezhen Resort).” A hired car can combine the resort with 三江口生态旅游区 (Tongjiang Sanjiangkou) or 拉哈苏苏海关旧址 (the former customs house); confirm the drive and waiting time with the driver.

Public bus and parking

Buses run from downtown Tongjiang to 街津口赫哲族乡 (Jiejinkou), but service is infrequent. Confirm the outbound bus and last return bus before setting out. Follow the resort's directions for parking and fees, and do not block village access roads.

Know before you go

Performances, activities, and border facilities

Performances, some museum galleries, glass attractions, and intangible cultural heritage activities may operate only in certain seasons or on selected dates. The resort is near the border. Stay in public areas along the river; do not cross barriers, enter sentry posts or managed roads, or use drones.

Insects, photography, and food

There are many horseflies along the river in summer; wear long trousers and bring insect repellent. Ask before photographing residents, crafts, or public events. Shengyu (刹生鱼) is raw fish; choose grilled fish or another cooked dish if you prefer to avoid raw food. Ask about portion sizes before ordering a whole-fish meal.
