The Russian-style historic building and memorial entrance
Suifenhe Railway White Building is at No. 164 Huayuan Road and now houses the Memorial Museum of the Red Secret International Transport Line. The entrance is on the square in front of the building, marked by a stone sign reading “White Building.” In the city centre, it is suitable for a walking route from Suifenhe Station.
Free admission, with a long lunch break
Admission is free and no reservation is required. Registration is required on entry; current guidance refers to Chinese ID cards, while travellers using foreign passports should confirm the accepted document before visiting. Visitors can collect a commemorative stamp inside. Opening hours are 08:30–11:30 and 13:30–17:00, with Monday closure. The nearly two-hour lunch break means the midday period is not available for visits.

The exterior
The White Building dates from 1903. Its white walls, black metal-tile roof and yellow trim form a Russian eclectic-style exterior. The front façade, the “farmer driving horses to plough” relief on the gable and the interior circular corridor all reward quiet observation and photography.
The Red Secret International Transport Line exhibition
The museum introduces the history of the secret transport line in the 1920s. It explains that 128 early leaders of the Chinese Communist Party, including Li Dazhao, Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao, travelled to and from the Soviet Union through this route. The reconstructed Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao rooms on the second floor are key displays; use the panels to understand their context.
Planning a visit to a memorial site
History, railway-history and architectural-photography enthusiasts can allow 45–60 minutes. Visitors interested in memorial sites can combine it with Suifenhe City Museum for a half-day urban walk. Keep the visit quiet and do not turn the serious historical setting into a noisy photo scene.

The approximately 30-minute fast route
First view the whole building and stone sign from the square, then enter and go straight to the second floor to see the reconstructed Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao rooms before following the open route back to the exit. If it is close to 11:30 or 17:00, prioritise the second-floor highlights and leave the remaining galleries for another visit.
The 45–60-minute complete route
Start with the first-floor panels to understand the White Building's relationship with the Red Secret International Transport Line and the Chinese Eastern Railway. Continue to the basement for the reconstructed printing office and escape route, then finish with the second-floor galleries along the circular corridor. Whether the entire basement is open depends on that day's management.
A city-centre walking order
Combine the White Building with Ren Tou Lou, Suifenhe City Museum and St. Nicholas Church; the venues are about 5–10 minutes apart on foot. Schedule the memorial museum before 11:30 or after 13:30, and use the remaining time for outdoor buildings and a meal.

From Suifenhe Station to the city
After arriving at Suifenhe Station, continue into the city and walk or take a short taxi ride to No. 164 Huayuan Road. City taxi rides are usually within the starting-fare range. There is no metro service; when ride-hailing is scarce, arrange a city taxi early rather than waiting near closing time.
Parking and walking
The White Building is in the city centre, where parking is inconvenient. If driving, leave the car at a city car park and walk to the museum. Keeping the car in the centre also makes it easier to connect the museum, Ren Tou Lou and St. Nicholas Church before collecting it for the return journey.
Know before you go
Lunch break and Monday closure
The museum takes a lunch break from 11:30–13:30 and closes on Mondays. The available entry periods are before 11:30 and after 13:30. Confirm any temporary changes before departure; the opening hours of nearby museums do not apply to the White Building.
How to visit a memorial site
After registering, follow the panels and staff directions. Keep quiet, do not touch reconstructed facilities and do not pose noisily in front of rooms or memorial displays. For architectural details, the exterior, relief and corridor are suitable subjects; follow the on-site rules for indoor photography.
Meals and combining attractions
Look for Russian restaurants and large Russian-style loaves in the city, and confirm which shops are open when you arrive. If the White Building is on its lunch break, walk to Ren Tou Lou or the church first and return during the afternoon opening period.
