Reach the island by way of Qinyu Road
Little Qingdao Park is at 26 Qinyu Road in Shinan District. It is free, needs no advance reservation, and uses named registration by QR code at the entrance. It usually opens 06:00–20:00. Allow 30–50 minutes for the island walk and the lighthouse exterior, or about 2–3 hours with Qinyu Road, Luxun Park and the nearby coast.
Lighthouse, statue and coastline
The main experience is walking along Qinyu Road onto the island, following the coastal path, and seeing the white lighthouse, the Qinü statue and the views back toward the city. The lighthouse is mainly an exterior landmark here; do not apply the Naval Museum's reservation, security or opening rules to Little Qingdao Park.

Lighthouse and island loop
The white lighthouse, built in 1900, is Little Qingdao's most recognizable landmark. Whether the interior is open does not affect the island walk. The Qinü statue, shell pavilion, rocks and pine branches provide different photo backgrounds, making this an easy choice for coastal photography and a short walk.
The seawall view along Qinyu Road
Qinyu Road connects the mainland and island, with the city on one side and the sea on the other. Wind and light change noticeably toward evening. Visitors who want a sea view, lighthouse photos or a relaxed coastal walk can focus on Qinyu Road and the island's outer path.
Build your day
The 30–50 minute island route
Enter at Qinyu Road, follow the seawall to the island, see the lighthouse and Qinü statue first, then walk the island loop before returning the same way. When the wind is strong or the path is crowded, spend less time beside the rocks and stay on the seawall and safe paths.
A 2–3 hour coastal combination
From People's Hall Station, walk to Qinyu Road and visit Little Qingdao. Return to the mainland, then continue along the coast to Luxun Park or No. 1 Bathing Beach. The Naval Museum is nearby but has different reservation and security requirements, so allow separate time if you plan to visit it.
Get there
Metro and walking
Take Metro Line 3 to People's Hall Station and walk about 1 km from Exit D along Laiyang Road to Qinyu Road. Buses 202, 214, 223, 304 and 316, among others, stop at “Luxun Park” or “Qinyu Road.”
Driving and coastal paths
The surrounding roads are narrow and often one-way, with limited parking in peak travel periods. Qinyu Road, the seawall and the island paths all require walking; wear shoes with good grip and stay away from wet rocks in strong wind and waves.
Know before you go
Free entry and opening hours
Little Qingdao is free and usually accessible 06:00–20:00, with named registration by QR code at the entrance. The seawall and island loop become narrower in crowded periods, especially during holidays and July–August. Weekdays or earlier hours are better for photos.
Supplies and sea conditions
There are few places to buy drinks or snacks on the island, so prepare them in advance. Wind, tide and slippery surfaces affect walking beside the rocks; during high tide or strong waves, stay within the path.
