Location and role in the trip

Xiaoyao Valley is across from the Jinsha service area on the eastern side of Mount Sanqing and is within walking distance. It is best arranged before entering the main Mount Sanqing scenic area; if you come down early and Xiaoyao Valley is still open, it can also be a short stop afterwards. Its routes are much lighter than the main mountain area, with an old-style street, a lakeside walk and optional interactive projects.

Ticket and opening hours

The recent promotional ticket is about CNY 39.9, but the price changes quickly. Opening hours are about 08:00–17:00, with no mandatory reservation information currently available. Check the day's price, opening time and available projects before deciding how long to stay.

Old-style street and Xiaoyao Lake

The Ming-and-Qing-style Xiaoyao Old Street (逍遥古街) is a newly built group of Huizhou-style buildings. It works for photographing gateways, window frames and lane lines, although some shops may be empty or closed. Xiaoyao Lake is better for a short walk, while the water columns and mist at Caihong Hanquan (彩虹喊泉, voice-activated fountain) depend on the equipment and on-site interaction.

Elevated projects and water activities

Caihong Boli Qiao (彩虹玻璃桥, glass bridge), Baihu Tiaozhan Qiao (白虎挑战桥, challenge bridge) and Qinglong Boli Shuihuadao (青龙玻璃水滑道, glass water slide) offer mild thrills. They usually cost extra and have physical requirements. Treat them as options for the day and confirm their opening status, fees, height rules and health restrictions before joining.

Who should include it

Visitors who finish Mount Sanqing early enough and reach the Jinsha service area while Xiaoyao Valley is still open can add a 1–2-hour stop. Anyone interested in the challenge bridge or water slide can extend the stop according to the queue. If one elevated facility is your main reason for coming, confirm its status first; if it is closed, the old street and lake remain available.

Build your day

1–2-hour light route

Enter through the old-style street, take photos along the lanes, then walk around Xiaoyao Lake and see Caihong Hanquan before following the exit signs. The route takes about 1–2 hours and works well as an easy warm-up before the main scenic area; if you come down early and the valley is still open, it can also be a short stop afterwards.

The available content around the old street and lake can change. Look at the day's project boards and shop status as you go. With limited time, finish the street, lakeside and Caihong Hanquan rather than building the route around a facility that may be closed.

2–3-hour project route

After confirming that the elevated projects are operating, start with the old street and Xiaoyao Lake, then try Baihu Tiaozhan Qiao, Caihong Boli Qiao and Qinglong Boli Shuihuadao in sequence before leaving. Queues, changing clothes and extra payment between projects affect the total; 2–3 hours is only a planning reference.

If one project is closed, follow the on-site order for the remaining options and do not make repeated crossings of the park to chase one facility. Visitors uncomfortable with heights, slippery surfaces or fast slides can keep the lakeside walk instead.

Get there

Jinsha service area and the railway station

Navigate to “Mount Sanqing Xiaoyao Valley Scenic Area.” After reaching the Jinsha service area, follow the signs and walk over. The ride from Sanqing Mountain High-speed Railway Station takes about 20 minutes; after taking a taxi, confirm the Xiaoyao Valley entrance rather than getting out directly at the main scenic-area cableway entrance.

Xiaoyao Valley and the Jinsha Cableway entrance are next to each other but are separate visits. Check the main scenic-area ticket and Xiaoyao Valley project tickets separately. If you plan to climb on the same day, calculate the cableway's last departure and the return transport before adding the valley.

Know before you go

Facilities, weather and safety

The operating status of the high swing, escalator, glass bridge, challenge bridge, water slide, pool and shops changes quickly. Repairs or temporary closures do not necessarily come with a substitute facility. Rain also affects glass surfaces, steps and outdoor projects, so wear shoes with good grip.

High-altitude projects usually cost extra and may have height, health or other restrictions. If you feel unwell, dislike heights or do not want to get wet, choose the old street and Xiaoyao Lake. Lighting inside the valley is limited at night, so a night-view visit depends on whether the area is open that day.

Nearby rest and photography

Farmhouse restaurants line the road outside the scenic area; Shanzhongwei Farmhouse Restaurant is one possible meal stop and the food is on the spicy side. For night photography of nearby buildings, you can look at Wangsanqing Art Cluster. Fuyoutai is a free outdoor viewpoint, and whether it suits the day depends on traffic and the remaining daylight.

Prices, project status, shop hours and opening times change. Treat Xiaoyao Valley as a foot-of-the-mountain walk and optional project stop, and arrange Nanqing Garden, the West Coast and Sunshine Coast separately as part of the main scenic area.
