Open park and main areas
Weihai Park is at No. 58 Huanhai Middle Road. It is an open coastal park with no fixed entrance, so you can enter from any point. The park is listed as free and open all day without a reservation. From north to south, its themed areas are Haiya, Hailian, Haihun, Haisong and Haihui; the Big Picture Frame is in the central Haisong area.
Allow about one hour for the Big Picture Frame or 2–3 hours for a full north-to-south walk. The main photo points are busier around sunrise and sunset, while daytime summer shade is limited; early morning, evening and night are better for a longer walk.

The Big Picture Frame, Hailian and Haihun Square
The Big Picture Frame in Haisong is for sea and Liugong Island views, the Tongxin Knot in Hailian works well for portraits, and the Sea's Ode sculpture in Haihun Square is another themed landmark. Visitors who enjoy urban coastlines, public art and an easy walk can choose the section that fits their time.
The park's five themed areas and coastal path can be completed independently. From the coastal path, you can continue south to Yuehai Park for its lighthouse, seagrass houses and sea-facing swing as the next section of the coastline route.
Build your day
A one-hour Big Picture Frame route
Enter from any point and go directly to the Big Picture Frame in Haisong, taking front, rear or low-angle photographs before walking along the shore for a while. The first half-hour after sunrise is usually better for photographs with fewer people.
A 2–3 hour north-to-south walk
Enter from the north, pass through Hailian and Haihun Square, reach the Big Picture Frame in Haisong, and continue south. If time allows, add Yuehai Park or Haiyang Park; each park has its own landmarks and route.
Get there
Bus and parking
Buses 10, K7 and K8 stop at Weihai Park. The core area is about a two-minute walk from the stop. Drivers can navigate to “Big Picture Frame West Temporary Parking Lot,” then walk about five minutes to the frame.
The park is open and spread out, so the parking lot is not the only entrance. If spaces are tight, use a marked roadside space nearby and walk in; a north-to-south route reduces backtracking.

Crowds, sun and photography
The Big Picture Frame is busy around sunrise and sunset. Choose a weekday morning for a cleaner background. Summer daytime shade is limited, so bring water, sun protection and comfortable shoes for a long walk.
Food and nearby routes
The park's cafés and simple food options can be used for a break, while each restaurant and shop keeps its own prices and hours. The coastal path connects south to Yuehai Park and Haiyang Park and north to Happiness Gate; the facilities and landmarks belong to their respective parks.
